Tibet Tour Itinerary

Tibet - Lhasa Tour - 4 days

Day 01: Fly to Lhasa and Acclimatization.
Arrival at Gongkar airport, then about an hour drive (60kms) to arrive at Lhasa city, which is situated at an elevation of 3650 meters. Stay in hotel.

Day 02: Lhasa. Sightseeing.
Morning visit to Potala Palace, which used to be the winter palace for successive Dalai Lamas. Afternoon visit to Johkang Temple, the most sacred and oldest temple in Tibet. The walk around it is called Barkhor for all pilgrims, it is also a famous bazaar for Tibetan handicrafts and antiques. You may exploring the same alleys in the old city of Lhasa or get prepared for hiking. Stay in hotel.

Day 03: Lhasa. Sightseeing.
Morning visit to Drepung Monastery, the biggest and one of the most important monastery in Tibet, which is beautifully palace on a mountain slope outside Lhasa. Afternoon visit to Sera Monastery, where we can watch the Monks Debating which is one of the Tibetan Buddhist activities in the Monastery. And then visit to Norbulingka, the Summer Placace of Dalai Lamas. Stay in hotel.

Day 04: Drive to Gongar airport and fly back to Kathmandu.


Overland Tour of Lhasa

Day 01: Kathmandu - Nyalam (3750 m.).
Nyalam Guesthouse (dormitory room). Drive from Kathmandu to the Tibetan border at Kodari (Zhangmu). Continue up the steep switch back road to Nyalam.

Day 02: Nyalam - Lhatse (3950 m.).
A remarkable day's drive across the Tibetan plateau with Spectacular Mountain views from Lalung-La pass (5050m). Passing through the town of Tingri there is more views of Mt. Everest and Cho-Oyu.

Day 03: Lhatse - Sakya - Shigatse (3900 m.).
En route, visit Shakya Monastery before crossing the Lalung-La (4500m) and continuing across the plains to Shigatse.

Day 04: Shigatse - Shalu - Gyantse (3950 m.).
After visiting the Tashilimpu Monastery, it's a short drive to Gyantse with its amazing sights - Khumbum, Palkor Chode Monastery and Gyantse Dzong.

Day 05: Gyantse - Yamdruk Lake - Lhasa (3650 m.).
The highlight of this day is the beautiful turquoise lake, Yamdruk - Tso. After crossing the Kamba- La and the Yarlung (Brahmaputra) River, the journey ends in Lhasa.

Day 06: Lhasa. Sightseeing.

Day 04 Lhasa/Gyantse (3950 m.)
After crossing the Yarlung (Brahmaputra) River, the road climbs steeply to the Kamba - La with its magnificent views of the turquoise waters of Yamdruk Tso. Continue to Gyantse with its fascinating Kumbum, Palkor Chode Monastery and fort.

Day 05: Gyantse/Shigatse (3900 m.).
A short drive from Gyantse, visit Tashilumpo Monastery, the seat of the Panchen Lama and one of the most important monasteries in Tibet.

Day 06: Shigatse/Lhatse (3950 m.).
We continue across the vast Tibetan plain, crossing the Yalung - La before making a side tour to Shakya Monastery.

Day 07: Lhatse/Rongbuk (Everest Base Camp - 5000 m.).
Near Xegar, leave the main highway....head towards Rongbuk Monastery, the highest Monastery in the world. The views up the valley towards Mt Everest are simply stunning.

Day 08: Rongbuk / Tingri (4342 m.).
A morning excursion at Rongbuk, we then drive onwards to the small Tibetan town of Tingri.magnificent views of Mt. Everest and Cho - Oyu can be seen from the Hotel.

Day 09: Tingri / Nyalam (3750 m.).
One last spectacular day of our journey across the Tibetan plateau. On the way we stop for a while at Loblung-La (5050m) from where a breathtaking vista of Mt. Shisapangma and Langtang can be seen. The journey continues towards Nyalam.

Day 10: Nyalam / Zhangmu/Kathmandu
The road then descends to the border town, Zhangmu, today's last destination inTibet after immigration we proceed to our hotel in Kathmandu


Mt. Kailash Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Local sightseeing of Kathmandu overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 3: Day free at Kathmandu for last moment packing & shopping etc.

Day 4: Early morning start for Kodari border (border of Nepal) complete Nepal custom formalities cross border from where our Tibetan guide will take you to Zangmu (9300ft) where you will complete Chinese Emigrations &custom formalities and will proceed for Nyalam (12500 ft.). Transfer to hotel.

Day 5: Day free at Nyalam for acclimatization.

Day 6: Drive about 250Km to Saga (14800ft) arrive by evening where if any passenger is very serious as per doctor's advice will be sent back to border. Overnight camp/guest house.

Day 7: Drive about 250Km. to Horpa (15100ft) overnight camp or Guesthouse.

Day 8: Drive about 280Km to Mansarovar (15400ft) camp at the shore of Mansarovar overnight camping.

Day 9: Day free at Mansarovar for pooja, holy bath, walk around & visit Monastery or hot springs etc.

Day 10: After lunch short Drive to Dharchen (Base camp of Kailash) 15600ft. Overnight camp or Guesthouse.

Day 11: Those who wish to go for Parikrama will start trekking early morning & reach to Dehraphuk (16300 ft.) Those who are not going for Parikrama will go back to Mansarovar after Pooja.

Day 12: Parikrama group will further trek to Zuthulphuk (16000ft) en-route will cross Dolmala pass (18500ft) overnight camp at Zuthulphuk.

Day 13: Short trek from Zuthulphuk to Dharchen then Drive to Mansarovar & join group overnight camp.

Day 14: Drive to Baryang.

Day 15: Drive to Saga.

Day 16: Drive to Nyalam.

Day 17: Drive to Kodari border & drive in coach to Kathmandu - transfer to hotel.

Day 18: Transfer to Airport for your flight to next destination

1. Twin sharing different standard accommodation as per different category package with breakfast.
2. All necessary transportation by 4 WD Toyota Land cruiser.
3. Sightseeing tour as per the Program, an English speaking Guide and monastery entrance fees.
